Cruinnithe idir Tuismitheoirí agus Múinteoirí
Beidh na cruinnithe bliantúla ar siúl go luath anois. This short meeting is a very valuable opportunity to discuss your child’s progress with your Múinteoir Ranga and Special Education teacher, where relevant, in order to maximize your child’s progress for the remainder of the year. You will receive a time for your meeting on either Wednesday 25th or Thursday 26th of November from your Múinteoir Ranga. If you would like a specific time on one of these afternoons or if these dates do not suit you, please let your Múinteoir Ranga know by this Friday the 6th of November, so that an alternative meeting can be arranged. Múinteoir Eibhlín agus Múinteoir Mairéad will also let you know their times. Tá súil agam go mbainfidh sibh tairbhe as!

Banna Ceoil
Beidh Banna Ceoil ag ath-thosnú an tseachtain seo chugainn, on Thursday afternoons. We will be holding the little auditions for the school Banna Ceoil this week. Children should have 2 tunes ready to perform without music on their own instrument of choice. Children who wish to play percussion should also audition on another instrument. If children play another instrument other than tin whistle, it is preferable that they play this in the Banna Ceoil to give a good balance of instruments. Our next concert will be an Ceolchoirm na Nollag.

Mata sa Ghaelscoil: Rang 1-6
An bhfuil ceisteanna agat mar gheall ar mhata do pháistí? If you have questions or queries regarding the maths curriculum, your child’s understanding, how to approach challenging maths, táblaí, maths for fun etc. you are welcome to attend an information session here on Friday December 4th from 1.30-2.30 which Mairéad and I will give for parents of children i Rang 1-6. If there is any area in particular you would like covered please drop us a note beforehand.

Cótaí Scoile:
Have you a red or green jacket that your child is finished with but still in good condition. Please send it in if you wish and we will sell it for €10.00 and send that home to you when we sell it (please place in a bag with name clearly marked on the outside of bag). We still have a small number of new green jackets for sale @ €20.00.

Ranganna Gaeilge
Bíonn Ranganna Gaeilge ar siúl every Monday evening in the Hiberniain Inn @7.00. Information @ 067-32709

Cumann Obair Bhaile
Thosaigh an Cumann Obair Bhaile inné chun cabhrú le páistí an obair bhaile a dhéanamh, due to parental requests, on a trial basis for a six week period. The aim would be to give children from Rang 1 – 6 a structured and quiet environment to do their obair bhaile under teacher’s supervision. It would take place 4 afternoons a week, Monday – Thursday, from 2.30 – 3.30, but we would recommend that you would choose a maximum of 3 days, so that children wouldn’t tire of the routine. Children would have a short supervised break between school and obair bhaile, and should bring a healthy snack and drink to have at this time.
The cost for the above period of 6 weeks is €54 for 3 days a week, (€3 per day), €42 for 2 days, (€3.50 per day), and €24 for 1 day (€4 per day).
Places will be given on a first-come basis.
As you know, Obair Bhaile is given to reinforce and extend the child’s learning, as well as giving parents an opportunity to work with their child and an insight into their progress. Therefore, if your child is attending Cumann Obair Bhaile, we recommend that you do check your child’s obair bhaile each evening, and sign the Dialann as usual, and make up the contact time around their learning even if it’s at weekends in terms of following up on themes covered at school, or a trip to the library etc.

It is really important that all items are complete, in good working order and clean. So please get started on sending in your bags today! To have plenty available for the children to enjoy, we need at least one large bag from each child. Maybe your friends, neighbours and relations would be happy to clear out too!
Coiste na dTuismitheoirí will need lots of help on the day to make it a success, so if you are available your help would be greatly appreciated! Also wanted if anyone can come by one is a Wheel of Fortune, le bhur dtoil!

Christmas Child
Tá rang 1,2,4 agus 6 ag glacadh páirt i ‘Christmas Child’ i mbliana. If your child is participating please ensure that boxes are back to the school by November 19th le bhur dtoil! Ár mbuíochas to Marie Morgan who spoke to these classes yesterday and gave them a very interesting and practical insight into the work carried out by ‘Christmas Child’.

Aifreann na Nollag
Beidh Aifreann na Nollag le gach rang ag glacadh páirt ar siúl againn i Séipéal Naomh Mhuire ar a 10.00 r.n. Dé hAoine an 18ú/12/09. We love this school celebration of Christmas with parents, families and the daily mass – going parish community.
