Seachtain na Gailge
Féile an Aonaigh
Go n-éirí go geal le gach páiste ag glacadh páirt sna comórtas éagsúla i bhFéile an Aonagih! The times for children taking part from Rang 1-6 will be in their Dialann Obair Bhaile! We’d love to see you all put your hearts into this year’s Seachtain na Gaeilge by speaking as much Gaeilge as possible to your children. As we all know, they learn most from your example and attitude, so please support our endeavours agus cuirigí an Ghaeilge chun tosaigh!
Maidin Chaifé
Beidh maidín chaifé á eagrú ag Coiste na dTuismitheoirí Dé Mairt an 11-03-2008 ó 8:50 ar aghaidh chun Seachtain na Gaeilge a cheiliúradh. Bígi ann! Whatever your level of Gaeilge, join members of Coiste na dtuismitheoirí for a cupán agus a chat. Tá fáilte romhaibh go léir!
Ceolchoirm
Beidh ceolchoirm ag Comhlatas Ceoltóirí Eireann chun Seachtain na Gaeilge a cheilúiradh Oíche Aoine an 14-03-2008 ar a 9:00 san oíche. It will be a lovely nights’s family entertainment. Tickets are available from Kim san oifig @ €5.00 agus tá fáilte roimh páistí.

Comhghairdeachas
Maith sibh Rang a 5 agus a mhúinteora Máirín a bhuaigh craobh an chontae san Fhéile Scoildrámaíochta. Go n-éirí go geal libh in Inis ag craobh na Mumhan Dé Ceádaoin an 8ú Aibreán!

Gaeilge
Maith sibh don tacaíocht atá tugtha agaibh don Ghaeilge labhartha. We really see the difference in so many of the children’s attitude since we looked for your support. While we have had to issue Cártaí bána, there has been a huge improvement in the level of Gaeilge being spoken and we ask you to please keep up this momentum go háirithe anois le seachtain na Gaeilge maybe you might like to enjoy a Gaeltacht Summer Holiday? Seachtain na Leabhar
Toisc gur seachtain na leabhar é seo, ná déanaigí dearmad tábhacht ar leith a thabhairt do léitheoireacht le bhur bpáistí. Tá dearbhán faighte acu go léir sa scoil which entitles them to a free book or a reduction on others, in our local book shops.

Junior Achievement
Gach moladh don Chomhairde Contae agus do na hoiliúnóirí a chuireann na cláracha Junior Achievement i bhfeidhm sna ranganna éagsúla. Some of the classes have finished their programmes, while some aren’t starting until next term.

Snámh
Beidh an Snámh ag tosnú ar ais arís Dé hAoine an 11/04 – 16/05 do gach páiste sa scoil. Swimming will be starting back on Friday the 11th of April for all children in the school. As it is an important part of the Sports Curriculm, it is obligatory that children attend unless
they have a Doctor’s Cert. Is cuid an-tabhachtach é oiliúnt uisce ar an gCuraclam Coipoideachais agus tá an t-ádh linn go bhfuil linn snámha breá le múinteoirí an-mhaith againn ar an mbaile. Mar a bhíodh cheanna beidh na páistí ag taistil ar bhus go dtí an linn snámha agus beidh trí ghrúpa ag dul ann.
There will be 3 sessions each day and
we will divide Naí. Shóis in 2
letting brothers & sisters go together where possible

Seisiún 1 9:45 – 10:25 Rang 6,5 agus Naí Mhóra
(parents need to be at the pool at 9:30)

Seisiún 2 10:25 – 11:05 Rang 4,2 agus ½ Naí. Bheaga
(parents need to be at the pool at 10:10)

Seisiún 3 11:05 – 11:45 Rang 3, 1 agus ½ Naí. Bheaga
(parents need to be at the pool at 10:50)

It is essential that parents of children in Infants (or those looking after them) are at the pool 15 mins. before above stated time to assist in changing. As all the children i Naí Shóis + most i Naí Shínsear need help in dressing etc.... it is most important that if you cannot be there to undress and dress your own child, then you let us know who you have asked to take your place i.e. another adult eg. childminder, another parent or a child from Rang 4/6.

Children should bring a separate swimming bag to school big enough to hold all clothes and go in locker while swimming. Your child’s name should be marked clearly on the bag, swimsuit, towel, goggles, armbands (if required) as well as on all clothes worn by your child including under wear. In order that the swimming teachers can use your child’s name, please write your child’s name down the centre of his/her swimming cap in large letters with a permanent pen. Children with long hair should again wear it tied back and should bring a turban towel/small extra towel to wear over their shoulders back at school while their hair is wet. All children should wear a hat/cap after swimming to keep head as warm as possible. As smaller items of clothing often get wet, we also suggest that children bring a spare pair of socks and underwear.
The following is the cost for your child’s swimming course, which we would appreciated being sent in by next Wednesday 25th, le bhur dtoil.

€30.00 for 1 child in a family
€55.00 for 2 children
€75.00 for 3 children

With Aquatics given a very important emphasis in the P.E. Curriculum we look forward to all children benefiting immensely from this year’s swimming course. Having gone with the systems of swimming and water safety assessment certificates for the past number of years, we aren’t going to do them this year. Instead, we will be putting more emphasis on specific swimming technique and fun! We recommend that you bring your childrenswimming over the next 10 days so that they are familiar with the pool surroundings and are up to their appropriate level for grading on the first day of lessons. Well done to all on the amount of Shamrock sold already! We will paint the town green for Lá Fhéile Pádraig! Could you please send in the money by tomorrow so that we can send our order and receive the Shamrock early next week. Maith sibh!

Tuáillí
Anois, táimid ag lorg tuáillí! If you have any unwanted hand towels of any colour, new or in good condition, we would greatly appreciate them!

Amnesty
Maith sibh a thug an t-airgead do bhur bpáistí do na braisléid. As you know Rang a 4 were selling bracelets last week for Amnesty’s International Friendship Day. Go raibh maith agaibh don tacaíocht. They collected €600 for a very worthy cause.

Bliots Rugbaí
Tá na páistí go léir ag baint an-taitneamh as an Tag Rugbaí gach coicís le Noel O’Meara. Bhí bliots Rugbaí ag Rang a 6 in aghaidh Scoileanna eile sa cheantar an Déardaoin seo caite sa scoil seo agus beidh ceann eile acu i Dúrlas Éile an Déardaoin seo chugainn. Go n-éirí go geal leo.

Athchursáilt
