Nuair a thagann Tommy Mulcahy chuig an scoil gach
Máirt, bíonn áthas ar na páistí,
mar is ag dul ag imirt iománaíochta atá siad. Tógann
sé painéal na scoile chomh maith le Naíonáin
Mhóra gach tráthnóna Máirt. Tá grá
ar leith ag Tommy don iománaíocht, mar is eol do na páistí,
agus is ag tabhairt ar aghaidh an grá seo do na páistíceann
de na rudaí is mó a dhéanann sé. Idir scileanna
a chleachtadh, amuigh nó istigh sa Halla Nua, nó ag imrt
cluichí in aghaidh na scoileanna sa cheantar , is breá
leis na páistí an sport seo. Go maire tú go céad,
a Tommy!
When Tommy Mulcahy comes to the school on Tuesdays, the children love
to see him coming, as they know that it’s time for hurling. Like
many a person in Tipperary, Tommy has a real grá for hurling.
What is unique about Tommy is his love and dedication to passing this
on to the children, and this is what he does best. Tommy takes the school
hurling team at lunchtime, and the hurlers-to-be from Naíonáin
Mhóra after school. Between skills and games practice, as well
as playing friendlies, 7-a-sides, and competing in the primary schools
championships, the children have super opportunities to enjoy their
hurling. In 2007, we were really proud of Jack ó Lochnáin
when he lined up with his county playmates in the Primary Games in Semple
Stadium, before the senior inter-county game.It was a fantastic honour
for him, his family and his school Gaelscoil Abú!
